The standard RS-232 protocol has been widely used in most of industrial computer systems for serial port communication. However, it has its limitations in transmission speed, range, and networking capabilities. The RS-422 and RS-485 standard protocols, on the other hand, overcome the limitations mentioned above by utilizing different voltage lines for data and control signals.
AutoProJetCon 2101 has the built-in "AutoPro" function, which can adjust JetCon's baud rate and data format for different devices in a RS-485 network. Most RS-232 to RS-485 converters in the market use DIP switch to select baud rate and data format, but "AutoPro" allows JetCon to be autoconfigured to the same baud rate and data format in the entire RS-485 network.
